NP&A Expanding Mexico Facility

QUERÉTARO, MEXICO — Nidec Press & Automation officials recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of an expansion that will quadruple the size of the current service facility in Querétaro, Mexico. The addition is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Once complete, the expanded facility will house an additional 8,600 square meters of production space, for a total area of 20,000 square meters throughout the facility. Other significant improvements will be increased crane capacity and new machining equipment. The expansion will increase the capabilities for in-house manufacturing of press components and repair parts, and assembly of presses.

Metalformers in Mexico and Latin America will have quicker, easier access to repair parts made locally and will benefit from expanded service and manufacturing capabilities closer to home.

The $20 million investment also underscores the long-term commitment of NP&A to provide new job opportunities in the region after building a new service plant in 2020. NP&A plans to hire approximately 40 additional employees locally over the next five years.

“Our expansion in Mexico reinforces our global commitment to metalformers while supporting the present and future needs of our industry,” said Ronald Arling, President of Nidec Press & Automation. “We are proud to support local industry growth in Mexico and the surrounding region.”

Established in 2014, the Querétaro, Mexico, location is part of NP&A’s shared global customer service network with major service centers also located in the USA; Spain; Mexico; Germany; Japan and China. Technical support is dispatched to more than 95 countries on five continents.
